RED LION - Edward E. Arnold, 71, died at 1:34 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Ferne (Barshinger) Arnold with whom he celebrated a 44th wedding anniversary on June 30th. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, 220 N. Charles St., Red Lion, with his pastor, the Rev. Anne-Rose Reeves, officiating. Burial with military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard will be in Freysville Union Cemetery. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Arnold was born December 8, 1935, in Windsor Twp. He was the son of the late Albert J. and Blanche (Newcomer) Arnold. He was a life long farmer and also retired from Standard Register on May 28, 1999 after 33 years with the company. He worked in the company's collating department, was a production planner & later, a scheduler. He was a 1953 graduate of Red Lion Area High School and served with the United States Army stationed in Korea. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he achieved 59 years of perfect attendance and was a former member of church council. In addition to his wife, Mr. Arnold leaves two sons, Jeffrey L. Arnold and wife, Lesa, of Felton, Mark E. Arnold and wife, Virginia, of Craley; a daughter, Jennifer E. Arnold and companion, Matthew Zeigler, of Aspers; and five grandchildren, Joshua, Michelle, Lindsay and Sierra Arnold, and Ricky Lowe, Jr. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lavere Arnold. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 220 N. Charles St., Red Lion, PA 17356 or the York Parkinson's Support Group, in care of Cindy Capresecco, 290 St. Charles Way, York, PA 17402.
