KINGSTON-Edward C. Lange, 72, a resident of Kingston who formerly resided on Academy Lane, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at ManorCare Nursing Home, Kingston. Born in Wilkes-Barre on March 20, 1937, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Veronica (Goman) Lange. He was a 1955 graduate of E.L. Meyers High School. He was an Air Force veteran. Mr. Lange was a member and worked for the American Legion Post 132 and was a life and endowment member of the NRA. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 395, the VFW Post 5267, the Catholic War Vets 274, and the Wilkes-Barre Polka Pals Club / dance group. Edward enjoyed golfing, target shooting, gardening and dancing. He was also an artist, who did various paintings. Prior to retiring, he was employed as a machinist by Valley Manufacturing. He formerly worked for the Irem Temple Country Club, Dallas and was the former owner of Tony's Tavern in Luzerne. He was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Hooper. Surviving are his sisters, Maryalyce Hodakowski and Paula Lange, both of Wilkes-Barre, and two nephews, Edward Hodakowski, Missouri and Charles Hooper, Edwardsville. The Funeral Service will be held Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Pastor John Butch of Christ Community Church, Kingston will officiate. Interment will be Saturday morning at 11:00 AM in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. A procession will form at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 10:30 AM. Friends may call Friday afternoon from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edwards name to your favorite charity.
