Edward B. Hogan

WILKES-BARRE-Edward B. Hogan, 67, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday evening in Hospice Community Care, Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Tunkhannock on April 29, 1941, he was a son of the late John H. and Grace C. (Green) Hogan. He was a 1959 graduate of Tunkhannock High School. Mr. Hogan was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having attained the rank of Airman First Class. During his Air Force service, he was stationed in Congo, Turkey, Iran and several bases in the United States. He was a member of I.B.E.W, Alaska and a fifty-year member of the Moose Fraternity, Pittston Lodge 1207. Prior to retiring in 1995, he was employed as an electrical engineer by Philco in the Andros Islands, Bahamas. He was previously employed by I.T.T., which was a Defense Department contractor in Clear, Alaska.. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Jack, Robert and Samuel. Surviving are his brothers, Gerald A. Hogan, Wilkes-Barre; Kenneth Hogan and his wife, Anita, Tunkhannock; Richard A. Hogan and his wife, Karen, San Luis Obispo, CA; David M. Hogan, Philadelphia; sisters Mrs. Harry (Barbara) Hyman, Wilkes-Barre; Karen P. Hogan, Wilkes-Barre; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; close friends, Gary and Noelle; and his faithful companion, Maggie. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Pastor Chuck Fantaskey, Chaplain of Hospice Community Care will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
