Edna R.(Ricketts) Wright

YORK- Edna R. (Ricketts) Wright, 89, went to meet her lord on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at York Hospital. She was the wife to the late Raymond H. Wright, Sr. to whom she shared 45 years of marriage. All services will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Wright was born on February 28, 1920 in Darnestown, MD, to the late James W. and Hattie C. (Case) Ricketts, Sr. She retired in 1986 from Batts Neck Plantation, Inc. in Stevensville, MD after 23 years. In her earlier years Mrs. Wright enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She especially enjoyed babysitting and dotting over her grandchildren. Mrs. Wright is survived by a son, Raymond H. Wright, Jr. and his wife Jean of Rose Haven, MD; two daughters, Brenda W. Pontius and her husband James of Manchester and Barbara J. Hobbs and her husband Rick of Camden, SC; five grandchildren, Tonia Boling, Bonnie Hale, Lisa Pontius, Michael Hobbs, and Timothy Pontius; six great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Ricketts of Davidsonville, MD; and her cat Bootsy. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Raymond H. Wright, III and eight brothers and sisters.
