Edna Romaine Eyer

DALLASTOWN- Edna Romaine (Runkle) Eyer, 83, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018, at ManorCare Health Services-Dallastown. She was the wife of the late David C. Eyer, who passed away in 2012. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel &Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with Pastor Howard Edmondson officiating. Viewings will be on Tuesday, March 13, from 6:30-8:30PM at the funeral home, and Wednesday from 9-10AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Freysville Cemetery. Born July 26, 1934 in Chanceford Township, Edna was a daughter of the late Ernest Elmer and Mary Elsie (Wise) Runkle. Edna was a member of the Windsor Church of God. She enjoyed reading, gardening and planting flowers, watching and feeding the birds, collecting roosters, and she loved animals, especially cats. Edna’s greatest joy in life was her family and she loved being a mother and grandmother. Mrs. Eyer is survived by four sons, Carl E. Smith and his companion Belinda, Earl L. Holtzinger and his wife Trudy, Lester E. Holtzinger, Jr. and his wife Rhonda, and Jeffrey L. Holtzinger and his wife Alyssa; four daughters, Karen R. Blevins and her husband Donald, Joyce A. Sager and her husband Randy, Sherry L. Miller and her husband Ed, and Beth S. Innerst and her husband Greg; 17 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; a great-great grandson; a brother, Carl H. Runkle and his wife Rose, and her former husband, Lester E. Holtzinger, Sr. In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by four brothers; three sisters; two grandsons, and a great grandson.
