FELTON - Edna Mae (Johnson) Tracey, 80, passed away peacefully after a long illness with Alzheimer, on Saturday, October 29, 2022, in her suite residence at The Victorian Villa-Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Barry L. Tracey to whom she was married 54 years.
Born March 22, 1942 at home on the Johnson family farm near Delta, the sixth child born of the late Robert A. "Andy" and Rosie Ellen (Baldwin) Johnson, Sr.
Edna Mae graduated in the first graduating class of Red Lion Area Senior High School in 1960. Upon graduating, she began working for the Red Lion School District in the high school office. Three years later in 1963, she married Barry L. Tracey. Shortly after, she began working as a paralegal with Attorney Lewis Markowitz in York until her retirement in 1973.
Edna Mae was an EMT for over two decades with Brogue Ambulance and life time sponsor of Ducks Unlimited. She enjoyed many happy and memorable years raising her two sons, and traveling to Florida each February to enjoy Daytona Beach, NASCAR and Mexico for rest and relaxation in her later years with her husband Barry.
Honored as a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her sons, Bryan L. Tracey wife Carol, and Brad Tracey girlfriend Candy Eveler; grandchildren, Audrey Dunn husband Bryan, Colleen Lutz husband Brandon, Adam Tracey girlfriend Mandy Sauter, Lauren Cherry husband Forrest, Sean Mankin, Clare Mankin, Kayla Tracey and Jenna Tracey; great grandchildren Dawson Alexander, Violet Vienna and Azriel McKenna. In addition, she will be remembered as a loving sister survived by Rosie E. Harrington, Catherine J. "Kate" Dunbar and sister-in-law, Kay Johnson.
Edna Mae was preceded in death by her grandson, Nicholas A. Mankin and brothers, Robert A. "Bob" Johnson, James Edward "Ed" Johnson, William S. "Bill" Johnson and Richard E. "Dick" Johnson.
She was also well loved by her Nieces and Nephews and their families.
A Graveside Tribute Service will be 2:00PM Monday, November 7, 2022 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd, York. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Dr. Terry Felton of Mason Dixon Baptist Church in New Freedom. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Nicholas A. Mankin Scholarship/Community Fund, C/O Peoples Bank. Contributions may be dropped off at or mailed to any Peoples Bank branch location.
