Edith Maxine (Haas) Eckel

RENOVO - Edith Maxine (Haas) Eckel, 94, of Renovo passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Bucktail Medical Center, S. Renovo. She was born May 25, 1918 in S. Renovo the daughter of John L. and Edith A. (Herrold) Haas. Edith was married to Andrew B. Eckel on January 14, 1946; he preceded her in death May 7, 1976. She worked for Weldons, Sylvania and retired from Piper Aircraft after 10 years. Edith was a member of First United Methodist Church, Renovo. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and was a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution. Surviving are a sister, Clara W. Barrows of Renovo. Also two nieces, Helen Newlen of North Bend, Jacquelyn Weaver of Lock Haven and one nephew, Larry Barrows of Renovo. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo with Pastor Doug Conway officiating. Friends and relatives will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private at North Bend Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers.
