Edith Jane (Kibler) Poff

YORK- Edith J. (Kibler) Poff, 82, died Sunday November 22, 2009 at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of George Poff. The couple wed on June 23, 1945. A Celebration of Life Service will be 9 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York. A viewing will be from 6-8 on Monday, November 23, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Poff was born in York on April 7, 1927, a daughter of the later William and Carble (Bailey) Kibler. Edith worked as a homemaker. Mrs. Poff enjoyed bowling, knitting and crocheting. She devoted time in caring for her children, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Along with her husband, Mrs. Poff is survived by two daughters, Geraldine Shaffer and her husband, Fred of Spring Grove and Sandra Muran and her husband, Peter of San Luis Obispo, Ca; five grandchildren, Melissa, Wade, Timothy, Adam and Brian; five great-grandchildren, Kirstin, Brandon, Victoria, Haley, and Erica; one brother, Richard Kibler of Tennessee; and one sister, Nancy Snead and her husband, Alfred of York.
