Earl W. Uckele

Earl W. Uckele Earl W. Uckele, 85, of Pottsville, passed away Saturday at his residence. Born in Pottsville on December 29, 1921 he was the son of the late Henry and Mary Mueller Uckele. He was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School. He was retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; he most recently was employed at the Schuylkill County courthouse. He was an Army veteran having served during World War II. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha T. Orlick Uckele, who died February 5, 2004; his two brothers, Charles and Joseph Uckele. He is survived by his son, James E. Uckele, husband of Rosalie, Phoenixville, PA; his two Grandchildren, Gregory and Amanda Uckele; his brother, Henry Uckele, Pottsville; his two sisters, Margaret Elison, Pottsville and Mary Kemple, Scranton; several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. Friends may call on Friday morning from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass at the Church. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville. The Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., Pottsville is in charge of arrangements.
