Earl W. "Buzz" Sharp, Sr

Dover—Earl W. “Buzz” Sharp, Sr., 84, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Jean M. (Copp) Sharp. The couple celebrated 62 years of marriage on Jan 9th. A Celebration of Life Service will be 6 PM, Monday, May 16, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. A visitation will be held from 5-6 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Born January 28, 1932 in York, he was a son of the late Harry T. and Blanch (Hertzler) Sharp. He was employed as a machine operator with Pfaltzgraff for 48 years until his retirement in 1996. An avid outdoorsman, he had a passion for hunting and fishing. He especially loved the time he spent with his family in woods, on the lake or stream, including boating with his wife at Pinchot Lake. A member of the W. Manchester Fish & Game, he also enjoyed playing cards. In addition to his wife, Mr. Sharp is also survived by two sons, Earl W. Sharp, Jr., and his wife, Dawn of Dover and Stacy L. Sharp and his wife, Rebecca of Dover; one daughter, Alise M. Stoner of York; three grandchildren, Heather L. Sharp, Kyle L. Sharp and Nichole M. Stoner; two great grandchildren, Lonnie Stoner and Marcus Benway and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Harry, Vera and Esther.
