LOCK HAVEN - Earl Raymond Brown, 74, passed away Dec. 22, 2016 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by his family. Earl was born March 19, 1942 at home in Drury's Run, Renovo, the son of the late Franklin R. and Zora Belle Summerson Brown. He graduated in 1960 from Renovo High School. On June 6, 1964, he was married to Janice L. Shay in United Methodist Church, Renovo, by the Rev. Lewis A. Crouse. Earl and Janice celebrated 52 years together. Earl worked at the former Piper Aircraft, Lock Haven, and retired from Dominion Resources, formerly Consolidated Natural Gas Co., in Tamarack with 32 years of service. He worked at National Sporting Goods Store in Jersey Shore for the past 15 years. He was a 50-year member and Past Master of Renovo Lodge #495 F.&A.M., a life member of Renovo Elks #334, member of Valley of Williamsport Consistory, life Member of the NRA, life member of the North American Hunting Club, member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, former instructor for Pennsylvania Game Commission-Hunter Safety Class, member of Sinnemahoning Sportsmenás Club, member of Tiadaghton Sportsmen's Association, member of the Kettle Creek-Tamarack Sportsmen's Association, member of Keystone Elk Country Alliance, and a Top Calls, turkey calls, Pro Staff member. Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, photography and spending time at his camp in Tamarack. In addition to his loving wife, Earl is survived by a daughter, Carrie (Don) Troutman of Lock Haven; a grandchild, Caroline Adele Troutman of Lock Haven; a sister, Betty (Darrell) Mase of Batavia, N.Y.; two brothers, Gary (Joyce) Brown of Drury's Run, Renovo, and Keith (Candy) Brown of Danville; nephews Scott Mase and children Joshua and Megan of Batavia, N.Y., and Michael, Cory and Draven Brown of Danville; and a cousin, Edith Nesman of Drury's Run. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, with Martha Sykes officiating. In keeping with Earl's love of the outdoors, we would like everyone to wear his favorite color Camo. The family will provide the flowers, and memorial contributions may be made to the Kettle Creek-Tamarack Sportsmen's Association c/o John Ross, President, 17 Macs Lane, Renovo, Pa. 17764. A public viewing will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Interment will be private.
