Earl Lawver, Jr.

YORK - Earl Lawver, Jr., 84, passed away Thursday morning, December 20, 2007 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. He was the husband of Alma V. [Woods] Lawver to whom he was married 37 years on November 14, 2007. He was the husband of the late Sarah Lawver and the late Henrietta E. Lawver. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 24, 2007 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with his Pastor, the Rev. Kevin E. Trout officiating. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM Monday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born September 21, 1923 in Biglerville, Adams Co., a son of the late Violet [Carey] and Earl Lawver, Sr. He had retired as a driver from Zeigler's Concrete. Mr. Lawver will be remembered as a devout husband, father, grandfather, and citizen. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, baseball, family gatherings, and was a lifetime member at Bible Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Earl is survived by a daughter, Nancy Hoover of York; two sons, Steven Lawver of Virginia Beach, VA and Earl Guy Lawver of York; numerous stepchildren and grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald Lawver of Biglerville. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Holloway; and two sisters, Betty Lawver and Janet Redding both formerly of Biglerville.
