Earl L. Fringer, 83, of West Manchester Twp., died Friday morning at his home. He was the husband of the late Vivian A. (Miller) Fringer. Private funeral services and burial at Prospect Hill Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Fringer was born May 25, 1924, in West York. He was the son of the late J. Earl and Irene E. (Eppley) Fringer. He retired in 1985 as a roving foreman in the Line Dept. of Metropolitan Edison Co. after 39 years of service. He was a member of St. Stephen's UCC; was a Charter Member of the Viking Athletic Association where he served as Secretary for 52 years; was a 50 year member of the White Rose Lodge 706 F and the West York Memorial Post 8951 VFW. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and participated in the Normandy Invasion. Mr. Fringer leaves his three sons, Earl L. Fringer, Jr. and wife, Sally of York, Jesse E. Fringer and fianc窠Valerie of Spring Grove, and Larry L. Fringer; two grandsons, Eric J. and Timothy W. Fringer; two great grandchildren, Ethan J. and Lillian G. Fringer; and a brother, Austin J. Fringer of York. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Helen L. (McGraw) Fringer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the S.P.C.A., 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17402.
