Earl E. "Moonie" Hake, Jr.

YORK – Earl E. “Moonie” Hake, Jr., 89, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at his home. He was the long-time companion of Christine L. Stine. Mr. Hake was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth L. (Mitchell) Hake. Born May 30, 1932 in York a son of the late Agnes Marie (Boyd) and Earl E. Hake, Sr.; he retired from York Casket Company. Mr. Hake was a member of Faith Evangelical Congregational Church. He enjoyed woodworking, cheering on the Orioles and singing and being a member of a country western band. Mr. Hake is survived by three daughters, Geraldine “Jerri” and husband Doug Evans of Wrightsville, Connie L. Hake of Lancaster, Brenda E. and husband Nick Ortega of Carlisle; three sons, Michael E. and wife Wendy Hake of Lancaster, David R. and wife Rosanna Hake of Oahu, HI and Earl E. “Butch” Hake, III of Spry; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; a sister, Bonnie Ann Erb of Dover; and two brothers, Ronald Hake of York and Dwight and wife Mary Hake of Red Lion. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Hake; and a sister, Betty Ryan. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be announced at a later date.
