YORK - Earl E. Knaub, 86, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Jacqueline M. (Billet) Knaub. The couple had been married for 64 years. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 27, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with the Reverend Eddie D.D. Miller officiating. A visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born on May 14, 1926 in Jacobus, he was a son of the late Roy S. and Ruth V. (Myers) Knaub. Earl was a sheet metal worker and welder for C.C. Kottcamp & Son, Inc. for 43 years until his retirement in 1988. Mr. Knaub served our country for 11 years in the United States Navy and U.S. Naval Reserves during WWII. Mr. Knaub was a member of Longstown United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees and was a member of the Men's Fellowship Club. He was also a member of Hawk Gunning Club, the Hallam VFW Post #7045 and the Christian Motorcycle Association of Lancaster. Earl loved being on the farm and enjoyed riding his new John Deere Tractor. Along with his wife, Jacqueline, Earl is survived by three sons, Michael E. Knaub of Machipongo, VA, Jeffrey E. Knaub and his wife, Deborah of York and Earl E. Knaub, Jr. and his wife, Christine of York New Salem; three daughters, Bonnie L. Hoersch and her partner, Joel Beck of Hallam, Debra S. Dengler and her husband, Craig of York and Shari D. Trout and her husband, Ryne of York; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four sisters, Yvonne Stein and her husband, E. Dwayne of York, Maryann Flaharty and her husband, Glen of York, Marjorie Rupp and her husband, Harold of York and Gayle Zeigler of York; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, David Knaub, Paul Knaub and Martin Knaub; and two sisters, Maxine Cline and Jean Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Longstown United Methodist Church, 2975 Carol Rd., York, PA 17402
