E. Freda Miller

YORK- E. Freda (Noble) Miller, 92, went to be with her Lord on Monday, November 16, 2015 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Harold J. Miller, who died on July 2, 1999. The couple had been married for 54 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with her pastor, the Reverend David L. Ritterpusch officiating. A viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to the service. She will be laid to rest in the New Oxford Cemetery beside her husband and son. Born on January 16, 1923 in New Oxford, she was a daughter of the late Harry D. and Ruth E. (Livingston) Noble. Freda worked at a daycare for 13 years at First Church of the Brethren in York. Mrs. Miller was a member of Advent Lutheran Church for over 50 years and served in the Altar Guild. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and bridge. Mrs. Miller is survived by one granddaughter, Laurie Astree and her husband, Kevin of Lancaster; two great grandchildren, Roman and Ella Astree; one brother, John Noble and his wife, Pat of Canton, Georgia; one nephew, Mike Noble and his wife, Barbara; and two nieces, Ruth Noble and Pam Garrett and her husband, Pudge. She was preceded in death by one son, Philip C. Miller; one daughter, Carol Ann Nagle; and one brother, Charles Noble. Memorial contributions may be made to Advent Lutheran Church, 1775 E.
