Dunnick H. Snell

YORK - Dunnick H. Snell, 85, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Normandie Ridge. He was the husband of the late Geraldine J. (Shetley) Snell to whom he was married for 49 years. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Mt. Rose Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Coppage officiating. Friends and family will meet at 1:45 PM at the Mt. Rose Avenue entrance of the cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born March 28, 1929 in York a son of the late Edward and Lottie Mae (Hershner) Snell, he retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in 1997 after 35 years of service. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and he will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Dunnick was a member of Covenant Moravian Church. Mr. Snell is survived by a daughter, Cori and husband Stephen Herrold of Harrisburg; six grandchildren, Carollee, Benji, Jason, Andrew, Robert, and Jenni; a sister, Freda J. and husband Robert Richmond of York; three nieces, Linda Ehrman, Debbie Chronister, and Kim Anderson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Roser. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Feed The Children, PO Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK 73101.
