Dr. Ronald P. Spinello

YORK – Ronald P. Spinello, DDS, 88, passed away Wednesday May 31, 2023. He was the husband of Donna B. (Bell) Spinello of Stuart, FL; and partner to Bonnie L. Hoersch of York.

Born February 23, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY; a son of the late Michael and Anna (DeLuca) Spinello, he was a 1956 graduate of Columbia University and a 1959 graduate of Temple Dental School. He had also served in the US Army Dental Corps from 1959-1960.

Dr. Spinello owned and operated his general dental practices in both Westbury, Long Island, NY from 1961-1992 and on W. Market Street in York from 1998-2020. He was a member of the American Dental, Pennsylvania Dental, New York State Dental York County Dental and Nassau County Dental Associations. In addition to his 63 years in dental practice, Dr. Spinello was an inventor for many dental related procedures which included holding 30 US Patents. A few of his commercialized inventions included a hypodermic needle incinerator, disposable prophy angle, sharps disposal system and a computerized anesthetic delivery system called, the “Wand”.

Dr. Spinello is also survived by two sons, Gary M. Spinello of Westbury, NY and Glenn R. and wife Kelly Spinello of York; two daughters, Diana L. and husband Kevin Pollard of Satellite Beach, FL and Laurie R. Swezey and her fiancé, Peter Karoyannis of Jupiter, FL; nine grandchildren; and a brother, Barry J. Spinello of Templeton, CA.

Tribute services will be private with burial in Church of St. Patrick, Glen Cove, NY. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
