Dr. Eva Clare Stein

YORK- Dr. Eva Clare (Saunders-White) Stein, 61, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at her residence. She was the loving wife of Samuel N. Stein. The couple celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on April 18, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 397 Tyler Run Rd. in York, with a visitation from 5-6 p.m. The Reverend Dale Parker will be officiating at the service. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory in Red Lion is assisting the family with the arrangements. Dr. Stein was born in Marquette, Michigan on May 9, 1960 to Charles Saunders-White IV of Loveland, CO and Mikele (Garfield) Stillman of Hanover. She worked for the federal government in the Department of Defense. She served in the US Air Force, where she attained the rank of Captain. She was a career educator and active mentor to many always promoting kindness, compassion and dedication to public service. Along with her husband and parents, she leaves three sons, Anthony Fontana IV and his wife Debbie of Laurel, MD, Abram Fontana and his girlfriend Angie of York, and Levi Stein and his girlfriend, Hannah of York; three grandchildren, Rosie, Alex, and Luci; a grand dog, Zoey; a brother, Eric Saunders-White; two sisters, Amea Squadrito and her husband, Joseph, and Sarah Lehman and her husband Michael; and nieces and nephews.
