YORK – Douglas A. Everett, 73, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Holy Spirit Hospital. He was the husband of Judy M. (Heilig) Everett to whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage on June 12, 2017. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 3, 2017 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Certified Celebrant, Betty Frey officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Chapel. Private burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born February 16, 1944 in York a son of the late Gordon and Lucille (Berkheimer) Everett, he was a 1962 graduate of York Suburban High School and a 1966 graduate of Lebanon Valley College. Mr. Everett retired from York International - Borg Warner. In retirement, he enjoyed working as a teaching assistant at York Suburban Middle School. Over the years, Mr. Everett was very involved with York Little League as a coach and volunteer; he loved listening to classical music and drum and bugle corps; and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. In addition to his wife, Mr. Everett is survived by a son, Michael P. and wife Jacqueline Everett of Douglassville, PA; a daughter, Kathy L. and husband John Pavoncello of York; five grandchildren, Anthony Pavoncello, Christina and husband Josiah Weist, Anna Pavoncello, Ellie and Ethan Everett; and a sister, Alix McCowan of Mt. Juliet, TN. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Everett; a brother, Brian Everett; and a nephew, Robert Everett.
