LOWER WINDSOR TWP. - Dorothy V. (Shoff) Burk, 84 of Red Lion, passed away with her daughter by her side on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Manor Care Health Service in Dallastown. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 9-10 a.m. Her pastor, The Reverend Ersel Staples will be officiating. Burial will be in Shenberger Chapel Cemetery in New Bridgeville. Mrs. Burk was born in Lower Windsor Twp., on February 16, 1924, the daughter of the late Ammon and Martha (Buckingham) Shoff. She retired from House of Windsor, where she was a cigar maker. Mrs. Burk was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Martinsville, where she sang in the choir, and was a member of New Bridgeville Fire Company Women's Auxiliary. She was a 1942 graduate of Red Lion High School. She enjoyed her two cat companions, animals, gardening, and had a love for the outdoors. Mrs. Burk leaves two daughters: Donaleen Bell and her husband Denton of East Prospect and Carol Criswell of York; four grandchildren: Deanna Hershey, Danette Gillespie and her husband Wade, Alan Criswell, and Denise Feltenberger and her husband Hank; and seven great grandchildren: Andrew, Anthony, Scott, Nicole, Ryan, Harry, and Olivia. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jane Burk and a grandson, Dwight Bell.
