Dorothy V. (Reichenbach) Staszko

YORK- Dorothy V. (Reichenbach) Staszko, 86, died on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Franklin Matthews, to whom she was married to for 34 years. A celebration of life memorial service will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with her pastor, the Reverend Elizabeth C. Polanzke officiating. A visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Born on September 1, 1925 in Northumberland, Dorothy was the daughter of the late William O. and Viola M. (Gillinger) Reichenbach. Dorothy was a 1944 graduate of Northumberland High School. She worked as a Sales Clerk for Newberry’s Department Store and later as a Resident Manager for East Park Garden Apartments. Mrs. Staszko was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. She enjoyed dancing and attended Arthur Murray Dance Class. She also enjoyed golfing, bowling and knitting. Mrs. Staszko is survived by a daughter, Benita Ann Garrett of Harrisburg; a grandson, Matthew W. Charlesworth; a great grandson, Brandon James Rynard and his wife; and a great great granddaughter, Tammy Mae Rynard; and a longtime friend and caretaker, Alma Briggs. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Charlesworth. Memorial contributions may be made to Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 1907 Hollywood Dr., York, PA 17403.
