YORK - Dorothy M. (Toomey) Ilyes, 91, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at The Haven at Springwood in York. She was the widow of the late Paul E. Ilyes Sr. The couple wed on June 30, 1945 and were married for 50 years. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Pastor Tanya Brubaker and The Reverend Forrest 'Bud' Bish officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service. Entombment will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Jacobus. Born on August 1, 1922 in Falls Creek, PA, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Robert S. and May (Rider) Toomey. She was a housewife and later worked at Dallastown High School as a cook in the cafeteria until she retired. Mrs. Ilyes was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Freysville. She loved to socialize, visit with friends and be around people. Dorothy was a former member of the Goodwill Fire Company in Jacobus, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, and the Springfield Township Farmer's and Sportsmen Association. Mrs. Ilyes leaves behind two sons, Paul E. Ilyes Jr. and wife Joyce of Red Lion and Floyd W. Ilyes and wife Susan of York; four grandchildren, Cheri Strayer, Tineka Miller, Jason P. Ilyes and Melissa Kohler; five great grandchildren, Cody Strayer, Waverly Miller, Teagan Miller, Dawson Miller and Addison L. Kohler; and a great great grandson, Sebastian Strayer. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by five brothers, Franklin Toomey, Robert Toomey, Luther Toomey, John Toomey and Orvest Toomey; and two sisters, Anna M.
