YORK- Dorothy M. (Snyder) King, 92, died on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Manor Care Kingston Ct. She was the wife of the late Ralph E. King who died in 1998. The couple wed on July 4, 1969. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with her pastor, the Reverend Peter Seiler officiating. A viewing will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private in Greenmount Cemetery. Born on March 14, 1925 in New Oxford, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred F. and Esther B. (Eckert) Snyder. Dorothy was a 1943 graduate of William Penn Sr. High School. She was a secretary for Caterpillar, Inc. from 1955 until her retirement in 1985. Mrs. King was a member of Zion U.C.C. She loved to travel the world, especially to China, Europe and Africa. Mrs. King is survived by three grandchildren, Mark Strine and wife, Lisa of York, Pamela Strine of Wellsboro and Jeffrey Strine and husband, Joseph Pigg of Washington, D.C. She was preceded in death by her son, Arthur J. Strine, IV; and brother, Walter “Jim” Snyder. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA, 3159 N. Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
