Dorothy M. (Smith) Wentz

Thompsontown – Dorothy M. (Smith) Wentz, 94, passed away on Monday April 25, 2022 at Brookline Manor in Mifflintown. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Beaver Urich Funeral Home, Inc. 305 W Front Street in Lewisberry with Rabbi Marshall Klaven officiating. Prior to the service, there will be a viewing from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Tri County Memorial Gardens. Born June 10, 1927 in Clinton County, Mrs. Wentz was a daughter of the late Merrill and Myrtle (Markle) Smith. Mrs. Wentz was very family oriented, and a matriarch to many generations. She was a mother to many, and would always help those in need. She was a self-employed care giver, and spent countless hours helping others. Mrs. Wentz also loved flowers, over the years she had many gardens, growing vegetables, herbs, and a variety of flowers. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to music, especially Marty Robbins. Mrs. Wentz leaves behind four sons, Richard Smith, Bruce Wentz, Joe Wentz, and Marty Wentz; a daughter, Joan Wentz-Acri; nine grandchildren, Jenny, Crissy, James Jr., Dawn, Michael, Lindsay, Cortney, Britany, and Nathan; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a sister, Mae Stamm; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wentz is preceded in death by two sons, James Smith, and John Rhoads; a brother, Robert M. Smith, Sr.; and two sisters, Leona Price, and Pearl Smith. CLICK HERE TO SEND FLOWERS
