Dorothy M. (Harr) Diehl

YORK- Dorothy M. (Harr) Diehl, 87, died on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Rest Haven. She was the wife of the late Joseph R. Diehl, Sr., who died on June 15, 2016. The couple had been married for 65 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with the Reverend Bruce E. Fensterbush officiating. A viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born on April 17, 1930 in Johnstown, she was a daughter of the late Essington and Cora Harr. Dorothy was a homemaker. Dorothy loved animals and the outdoors. She also was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed playing with her kids. Dorothy was a member of AA and was proud to have 44 years of sobriety. Mrs. Diehl is survived by three sons, Joseph R. Diehl, Jr. and wife, Patricia of York Twp., James R. Diehl and wife, D. Robin of Red Lion and Jesse R. Diehl and wife, Tammy S. of Heildeberg Twp.; two daughters, Patricia C.M. Stoeckard of Loganville and Tammy Bievenour and husband, Paul R. of York; 30 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and one brother, Walter Harr. She was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey R. Diehl, Sr.; one daughter, Dorothy M. Diehl; one sister, Ruth Claycomb; and one brother, Harry Harr.
