Dorothy M. Cryder

LOCK HAVEN - Dorothy M. (Embick) Cryder, 96, a former resident of Youngdale Road passed away Thursday, Sept., 9, 2021 at Manor Care, Jersey Shore where she resided for the past year and a half. Born February 14, 1925 in Lock Haven a daughter of the late William and Mildred (Barth) Embick. Dorothy was married March 10, 1945 to Howard L. Cryder who died June 1, 2005. They celebrated 60 years of marriage together. She was a member of Haneyville Bible church and was a former Sunday School teacher. Dorothy was a 1943 graduate of Lock Haven High School. Surviving are a son, Thomas Cryder of McElhatten and two daughters, Diana (George) Brungard of Haneyville and Karen Reynolds of Linden. Seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren five great-great grandchildren and one great great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a sister Doris Peggy Furl and a step-mother Eleanor Embick. The Funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept., 15, 2021 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with Pastor Frank Rogers officiating. Friends and relatives will be received one hour prior to the service. The family asks those attending the viewing and funeral service to please wear a mask. Memorial contributions can be made to the Haneyville Baptist Church, 16655 Coudersport Pike, Lock Haven, PA 17745. Burial will be private at Haneyville Cemetery.
