Dorothy M. (Billet) Warren

YORK- Dorothy M. (Billet) Warren, 95, died on Friday, October 15, 2010 at Rest Haven Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Dewey T. Warren, Sr., who passed away on November 18, 1998. The couple had wed on December 24, 1935. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with her pastor, Reverend Steven M. Livermore officiating. A viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held at Mt. Rose Cemetery. Mrs. Warren was born on January 23, 1915, a daughter of the late William H. and Mary Louise (Hoffman) Billet. She was a 1933 graduate of West York High School. Mrs. Warren was a life member of St. Paul Evangelical Congregation. Mrs. Warren was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class and a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She volunteered at the White Rose Senior Center and the York White Rose Jr. Drum & Bugle Court sponsored by American Legion Post #127. Dorothy enjoyed Arts and Crafts, especially knitting. Mrs. Warren is survived by three sons, Dewey T. Warren, Jr. and his wife, the late Virginia Lee of Vinegrove, KY, William C. Warren and his wife, Mary Ann of Perry, GA, and Robert E. Warren and his wife, Terry A. of York New Salem; one daughter, Ruth E. Shifflet of York; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, William H. Billet; and a sister, Alice Garrett. Memorial contributions may be made to Rest Haven Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, 1050 S. George St., York, PA 17403, where Dorothy was a resident for eight years.
