WINDSOR TOWNSHIP- Dorothy M. Toomey, 84, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at her daughter's residence, and her former residence in York. She was the wife of the late John C. Toomey. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 2650 Freysville Rd. in Red Lion, with a viewing from 9-11 a.m. Her pastor, The Reverend Mark W. Jeske will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Freysville Cemetery. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Toomey was born in York on August 13, 1925, a daughter of the late Franklin and Ida (Beck) Becker. Mrs. Toomey was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Freysville, where she was active in the soup sales, Senior Group, and Lutheran Church Women. She was active in March of Dimes Walks, and York Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary. Her main passion in life was caring for her family and friends and she enjoyed baking, canning, and cooking. Mrs. Toomey leaves a son John D. Toomey and his wife Virginia of York; two daughters, Donna M. Martin and her husband Merle, Jr. of York and Robin Dehoff and her husband Bill of Red Lion; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Thelma Dellinger of York, and Betty Gallo of Pottsville. She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to March of Dimes, York County Chapter, 290 Dew Drop Rd., York, PA 17402 or VNA/Hospice, 218 E.
