Dorothy L. Lighty

WRIGHTSVILLE – Dorothy L. (Wallace) Lighty, 86, entered into God’s care on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy. She was the wife of the late Walter F. Lighty for 27 years and companion to the late Donald P. Sheffer for 37 years. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in the Chapel at Misericordia Nursing & Rehab, 998 S. Russell St., York with Rev. Francis Menei officiating. A viewing will be held from 2-3:00 PM Tuesday at Misericordia. Private burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born February 8, 1932 in York, a daughter of the late Quay M. and Mable C. (Kelly) Wallace, she had worked for various cigar factories in the York area and later retired from Donsco Foundry. She was a life member of Susquehanna Fish & Game and loved flowers and spending time with her family. Mrs. Lighty is survived by a son, Walter F. Lighty, Jr. and wife Darlene Lighty; four daughters, Linda L. Glass and companion Art Cordrey, Glenda R. Denton, Cheryl A. and husband Rich Reincke and Lovella E. Snell and companion Trent Creakman; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; and a lovingly adopted son, Rev. Francis Menei. She was preceded in death by a son in law, Lonnie Denton; a brother, Cletus Wallace; and three sisters, Rietta Spyker, Violet Filmore and Nancy Morgan.
