Dorothy L. (Ferree) Oerman

YORK- Dorothy L. (Ferree) Oerman, 93, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Rest Haven. She was the loving wife of the late Harry L. Oerman. A graveside memorial service will be 11 am Monday, March 30, 2009 at Mt. Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mt. Rose Ave., York, with Pastor Brad Gilbert officiating. Everhart Jackson Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Oerman was born August 24, 1915 in York, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (McWilliams) Ferree. She was a former employee of Lutheran Social Services and York Hospital, working as a nurse's aide . Mrs. Oerman attended Dover Bethany United Methodist Church. She loved crocheting and knitting. She traveled to all but two states. Dorothy enjoyed writing to many friends all over the United States. Mrs. Oerman is survived by cousins, Jean Douglass and her husband, John of Dover, Helen Kreeger of Red Lion, and Doris Sterner and husband, Bud of York; a nephew Harry Becker and his wife, Judy of New Salem; a good friend Sonja Crisamore and her husband Allan of Dover; an "adopted" son "Art" Anger of Naples, FL; and many extended family and friends. She was preceeded in death by a brother, Richard Ferree, and a sister, Charlotte Schildt In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a favorite church or charity.
