Dorothy J. Schmuck

YORK - Dorothy J. "Dot" (Morthland) Schmuck, 72, died Saturday, August 18, 2007, at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Woodman C. Schmuck who died February 20, 1995. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Everhart-Jackson-Heffner Funeral Home, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with the Rev. John S. Oldfield officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Schmuck was born December 25, 1934, in York. She was the daughter of the late Daniel W. and Charlotte (Lutzinger) Morthland. She attended Bible Presbyterian Church in Red Lion and taught Sunday School in York for many years. She was a member of the York City Fire Police for 20 years, was a member of White Rose Senior Center where she enjoyed making crafts, was a former Cub Scout Den Mother for many years and enjoyed shopping. Mrs. Schmuck leaves two sisters, Bernice Miller of MD and Jean Warner of Red Lion; a brother, Horace Morthland of AL; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends including PinkieB Westry. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Anna P. Smith, Helen M. Schetter and Janet Wunsch; and three brothers, John and Curtis Morthland and Earl Tate.
