Dorothy J. Brower POTTSVILLE-Dorothy J. Brower, 86, of Pottsville, passed away Tuesday at Orwigsburg Center, Orwigsburg. Born in Pottsville on December 29, 1922 she was a daughter of the late John F., III and Loretta Cartwright Dalton. Dorothy was a 1941 graduate of Pottsville High School. She retired from the former Alpha Mills, Schuylkill Haven. She was a member of the choir and Women's Missionary Society and Sunday school teacher for the former Christ E.C. Church, Pottsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Brower, Sr. who passed away in 2003; five brothers, Arthur, Francis, Harry, Arnold and Emmitt Dalton; her three sisters, Mildred Strausser, Virginia Daub and June Zimmerman. Dorothy is survived by her son Wiliam E. Brower, Jr., husband of Tammy, of Palo Alto; her three grandchildren, Misty Sheriff, wife of Robert, William E. Brower, III, husband of Kim and Christina Brower; her three Great grandchildren, Alyssa Sheriff, Taylor and Mackenzie Brower; her two brothers, Russell Dalton, of Pottsville; her sister, Wanda Burch of Pottsville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 10:00 A.M. at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Sts., Pottsville. Reverend David Wood will officiate. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and also on Monday morning from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
