YORK- Dorothy I. (Wantz) Lentz, 76, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. She was the wife of the late James L. Goodling and the late Ronald U. Lentz, Sr. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Chaplain Betty Fundalewicz officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be Suburban Memorial Gardens. Born on March 1, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Paul R. and Junietta (Falkenstein) Wantz, Sr. Dorothy worked as a Candy Packer for Wolfgang Candy Co. until her retirement in 1986. Mrs. Lentz enjoyed arts and crafts, especially painting and photography. She was involved in raising awareness about ovarian cancer. Mrs. Lentz is survived by one son, Larry E. Goodling and his wife, Darlene M. York; three daughters, Susan I. Hibbs and her husband, Danny R. of York, Joan N. Goodling of Linwood, PA and Jill A. Stanton and her fiancé, Timothy M. Van Dusen of Yoe; two stepsons, Ronald U. Lentz, Jr. and Michael L. Lentz; one step daughter, Susan K. Godfrey and her husband, Anthony J. of York; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Paul R. Wantz, Jr. and his wife, Virginia of York; two sisters, Virginia A. Kehm of Manchester and Mary L. Smith and her husband, Charles of York; numerous nieces and nephews; and many longtime friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
