York—Dorothy I. (Gordon) Crumling, 81, died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Manor Care Health Services-Kingston Court. She was the wife of the late Harry Barshinger and Lester C. Crumling. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 AM, Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with the Rev. Kent Vandervort of Stillmeadow Church of Nazarene officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-11 AM, Tuesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Canadochly Cemetery. Born July 25, 1930 in Hellam, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Elsie (Ely) Gordon. She was a loving homemaker to her family and enjoyed word puzzles. Mrs. Crumling is survived by five sons, Marty Barshinger and Gordon Crumling of York, Alan Barshinger of Hellam, Calvin Crumling of Shippensburg and Charles Crumling of Lancaster; two daughters, Charlene Barshinger Wolf and Esther Crumling Green of York; 13 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren, 1 step great-great granddaughter; three sisters, Gloria Dettinger of Hanover, Stella Lloyd of Felton and Clella Anthony of New Jersey; four brothers, Harold Gordon of York New Salem, Dale Gordon of Dover, Larry Gordon of Yorkana and Clair Gordon of Oklahoma; one aunt, Cora Landis of York and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Gettys, Eleanor Hake and Shirley Gordon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 N. Susquehanna Trail, York, Pa 17406.
