RED LION – Dorothy I. (Frey) McCue, 99, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at Manor Care Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Harry P. McCue. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Father Barry E. Yingling, Chaplain of Brunswick at Longstown officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-2 pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Born November 7, 1914 in New Bridgeville, a daughter of the late John L. and Ida (Craley) Frey, she retired from the laundry dept. at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. While working at Pleasant Acres, Mrs. McCue organized a room where residents could choose new clothing to lift their spirits. Prior to that, she worked for various small cigar companies in the New Bridgeville area. She was a lifelong member at the former Shenberger’s Chapel U.M. Church where she was a member of their Willing Workers Sunday school class and widow’s support group. Mrs. McCue also volunteered at New Bridgeville Fire Company where she would often assist in preparing meals. Mrs. McCue is survived by a daughter, Gloria M. and her husband Mantz Miller of New Bridgeville; a granddaughter, Vicki and her husband Dennis Grove of Yoe; two great grandchildren, Jack and his wife Julie Grove of Red Lion and Anne and her husband Shayne Beecher of Lancaster; and four great great grandchildren, Hanna and Emma Grove and Max and Charlie Beecher. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Mabel, Sterling, Carrie, Walter, Luther, Elwood, Flo, Harold, and Denton.
