YORK - Dorothy H. (Fiorell) Schweitzer, 89, died on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at her residence. She was the wife of Philip A. Schweitzer, to whom she was married for 66 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Pastor Tina Minnich officiating. Viewings will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, both at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Bel Air Memorial Gardens in Bel Air, MD. Born on February 1, 1925 in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late George and Helen (Huemme) Fiorell. Dorothy graduated from Fordham University with a Master’s Degree in Medical Social Work. She worked for several years for the City of New York. Mrs. Schweitzer was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Jacobus. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was Grand Representative to Ontario, Canada. Dorothy was an avid nature lover, enjoyed reading and loved traveling with her spouse all over the world. Along with her husband, Philip, Dorothy is survived by one son, Steven Schweitzer and his wife Christine of Hellam Twp.; three grandchildren, Meredith Williams and her husband, Bill, Elizabeth Kirkland and her husband, Grant and Erin O’Brien; and one great grandson, Ethan Kirkland.
