Doris (Ross) Hunt

Doris (Ross) Hunt, Age 91, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Bradford County Manor. Doris was born October 4, 1918 in East Smithfield, PA daughter of the late Roy C. and Mildred (Breese) Ross. She was a graduate of Luthers Mills High School in 1935 and Redd Stone Academy Beauty School Hazelton, PA in 1936. Doris operated her own beauty shop in Burlington, PA and worked at other various beauty shops in the Troy and Towanda area. She was married to the late Walter Hunt who died in 1988. Doris attended the Berrytown Wesleyan Church until her declining health did not permit her to do so, and enjoyed shopping and time spent with her family and friends. Family and friends are invited to call from 5 to 6 PM Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. Her service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 6 PM. Interment will be in Mountain Lake Cemetery, Burlington, PA. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry D. & Elsie Ross, Sr. of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, grandchildren, Jerry D. & Michele Ross Jr. Of Troy, PA, Shelly & Brian Gowin of Canton, PA, sister-in-law, Beryl Ross and niece Cheryl Metzger of Chambersburg, PA, nephews, Roy & Helen Ross and Robert & Jeanne Ross all of Baltimore, MD, great-grandchildren, Jessica Ross of Mansfield and her fianc矍att Hamilton of Purcellville, VA, Lance Corporal Jeremy Martin of Pensacola, FL, Jerilyn Ross of Troy, PA, Arica & Nathan Jennings, William Gowin, Justin & Tasha Gowin, Travis Gowin, Nathan Gowin, Jessica Gowin and Cory Gowin all of Canton, PA, several great nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Her parents, husband Walter Hunt in 1988, stepfather Allen Henry a brother Roy Ross and several aunts, uncles and cousins predeceased Doris. Memorials are directed to the Bradford County Manor Activities Fund, RR3 Box 322, Troy, PA 16947.
