Doris Mae (Spotts) Specht

MILTON - Doris Mae (Spotts) Specht, 88, died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Milton Nursing and Rehab, Milton. She was born on January 17, 1927 in Millersburg and was the daughter of the late Ralph T. and Florence V. (Crawford) Spotts. On July 11, 1948 Doris married the late Carrol James Specht and they celebrated 24 years of marriage together until his death on December 01, 1972. Doris was a graduate of DeBary High School, DeBary, Florida Class of 1945. She worked for various companies throughout the local area as a sales clerk and laborer. Doris was a former member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Milton, a member of A.A.R.P., the Ramblers Club, Lewisburg and the Evangelical Community Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, crocheting, baking, flowers and spending time with her family. Doris is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Richard C. and Marie Specht of Milton, one daughter Kathy L. Specht of Milton, two grandchildren; Tara Leigh McConaghy and her husband Gary of Pittsburgh and Dana Schuyler Specht of Lock Haven, three great grandchildren; Gavin, Gia and Jenna McConaghy and one brother and sister-in-law; Donald and Lorraine Spotts of Sanford, Florida. In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by two brothers; Ralph and Edward Spotts and two sisters; Eileen Sutton and Jane Taylor. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Evangelical Community Hospital Auxiliary, One Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837. A public viewing will be held 10:00a.m. – 11:00a.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton followed by the funeral at 11:00a.m. with the Reverend James H. Fladland, Interim pastor at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Milton officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Milton.
