Doris Mae (Lau) Ziegler

YORK- Doris Mae (Lau) Ziegler, 89, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services- Kingston Court. She was the wife of the late David E. Ziegler, Jr. The couple were married 49 years until his passing on May 4, 1996. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, 408 W. Market Street, York, with The Reverend Joel S. B. Folkemer and The Reverend Judith A. McKee officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:30-11 AM prior to the service. Born January 17, 1926 in York, Doris was a daughter of the late Emanuel Peter and Katherine Ellen (Schlosser) Lau. Doris worked as an office manager in a doctor’s office for more than 20 years. Mrs. Ziegler was a lifelong member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was also a lifetime member of the West York VFW Auxiliary. Doris enjoyed reading. She loved her trips to Ocean City, MD and spending time with her family. Mrs. Ziegler is survived by a son, David E. Ziegler III of York; a daughter, Nancy Burgess and her husband Terry of York; two grandchildren, Terri Goulden and her husband Jamie of Hanover, and Tracey Hearn and her husband Zachary of York; three great grandchildren, Emily Goulden, Brody Goulden and Baby Hearn due in October; a sister, Norma Jean Noel of Durham, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
