YORK—Doris M. (Kline) Gindlesperger, 78, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at her residence in North Codorus Township. She was the wife of Glenn L. Gindlesperger with whom she celebrated 48 years of marriage. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 AM, Friday, February 22, 2013 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York with Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. Viewings will be held from 6 to 7 PM, Thursday, and from 9 to 10 AM, Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in St. Jacob’s Union Cemetery. Born July 23, 1934 in Red Lion, she was the daughter of the late Andrew M. and Carrie A. (Endfield) Kline. A loving homemaker for her husband and family, she also worked for several years with various York area companies including Pottery Hill Gift, Howard Johnson Restaurant and Maple Press. She attended First Assembly of God and was former member of St. Jacob Lutheran Church in York New Salem and Christ Lutheran Church in Dallastown, where she taught Sunday School at the Leader Home. She loved animals, especially birds which she enjoyed spending time watching and feeding from her home. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Gindlesperger is also survived by one son, Randall A. Sowards of York; two daughters, Elaine M. Hensel of York and Barbara L. Gindlesperger of Texas; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheree M. Browne and two brothers, Charles P. and Richard L. Kline. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to York Rescue Mission, 367 W. Market Street, York, PA 17401.
