TROY - Doris L. Rockwell, 98, of Towanda, PA formerly of Troy, PA passed away Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Memorial Hospital Personal Care Home in Towanda, PA. She was born September 3, 1911 in Lindley, NY daughter of the late Liston E. and Irene B. (Weale) Larrison. Doris was a graduate of Corning Northside High School. She worked at Sylvania in Towanda. Her memberships included the West Burlington United Methodist Church and the Towanda Chapter No. 76 Order of Eastern Star. In her spare time Doris enjoyed camping, gardening, flowers and loved to cook. She was an avid fan of baseball and followed the Atlanta Braves. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard & Carol Rockwell of Troy, PA, Donald & Gail Rockwell of Sayre, PA and Wayne & Wendy Rockwell of Panama, a daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine & Harry Wright of Milan, PA sixteen grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, a sister Agnes Evans of Inverness, FL, a brother and sister-in-law, Robert & Betty Larrison of Corning, NY, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Doris was predeceased by her parents, husband Carl Rockwell in 1998 and son Gerald Rockwell in 2000. Family and friends are invited to call from 1 to 3 PM Wednesday February 10, 2010 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West main Street, Troy, PA. Her funeral and committal service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 3 PM with Reverend Chris Nauta of the West Burlington United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, PA.
