Doris (Klawitter) Sinton

YORK- Doris (Klawitter) Sinton, 89, died on Monday, February 20, 2017 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, York. She was the wife of Edward H. Sinton, to whom she was married for 66 years. Born on January 28, 1928 in Mt. Carmel, PA, she was a daughter of the late Elmer G. and Cora E. (Delcamp) Klawitter. Doris was a secretary at the former York International until her retirement in 1985. She was a formal member of the White Rose and Continental Square Dancing. She liked to travel visiting all 50 states and many western European countries. She enjoyed painting classes. Mrs. Sinton was an active member of Faith U.C.C. where she was a consistory member, co-chaired t he 100th Anniversary and the organizer of the Crismon Tree, and other committees. Along with her husband, Edward, Doris is survived by one son, Bradley R. Sinton of York; three grandchildren, Mindy Gasparin and husband, Ben, Megan Groft and husband, Doug and Matthew Sinton and fiancé Samantha Anthony; three great grandchildren, Carter Gasparin, Avery Gasparin and Quinn Groft; nephews, Robert Klawitter and wife, Joanne, Paul Klawitter and wife, Louise, and Warren Klawitter and wife, Aldona; and sister in law, Ruth Sprous of Winter Park, FL. She was preceded in death by her son, David E. Sinton; and brother, Clair Klawitter. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Faith U.C.C., 509 Pacific Ave., York, PA 17404 with Pastor Ron Oelrich officiating. A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at 2:15 p.m. at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
