Doris J. (Geringer) Dysinger

MILTON - Doris J. (Geringer) Dysinger, 70, passed away peacefully at Milton Nursing & Rehab Center, Milton. Doris was born in Williamsport on April 22, 1946 and was the daughter of the late Paul and Thelma (King) Geringer. On June 19, 1971 Doris married James A. Dysinger, who survives, and they celebrated 45 years of marriage together last year. She was a former member of Muncy United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading, lighthouses and crafts. Doris graduated with Honors from Muncy High School in 1964. She attended Lock Haven State College with a dual major in English and Theater, Class of 1968. She then became a teacher in the Warrior Run school district, where she met her Husband, James. In 1974, Doris left teaching to raise her two sons. In the mid-1980s, she worked at Bucknell University, where she was soon named Head of Special Collections in the University Archives, and retired after 23 years. During her time at Bucknell, she earned her Master’s Degree in Women’s Studies. In later years, she and Jim enjoyed many visits to see their Grandsons in NY, going to concerts, and to the movies. In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law; Jeremy A. and Valerie Dysinger of Williamson, New York and Joel A. Dysinger of Milton and two grandsons; Jaden and Marshall. A gathering of friends and family will be held 6:00 - 8:00p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton. A private burial will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2017 in Milton Cemetery.
