Doris I. Knaper

RED LION-Doris I. (Horn’e) Knaper, 86, of York Township passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Rest Haven. She was the wife of the late William H. Knaper. The couple was married in January 1954 and celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary before William’s passing in December of 2002. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. The service will be webcast live and can be viewed by searching Doris’s obituary at HeffnerCare.com Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. Mrs. Knaper was born in Red Lion on August 15, 1935, the daughter of Nevin W. and Martha E. (Hake) Horn’e. She retired as a custodian for Red Lion School District. Mrs. Knaper leaves a daughter, Christine D. Stone and her husband, Dale of Felton and a son, William H. Knaper, Jr of Red Lion; five grandchildren, Dale Stone, Jr. and his wife Diane of Dover, Travis E. Knaper of Felton, Tara L. Knaper of Shrewsbury, Lesa Arnold and her husband Jeff of Felton, and Rebbecca Stone of Red Lion; 11 great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Nevin W. (Buck) Horn’e, Jr. and a cousin Nancy Kumontis. Memorial contributions may be made to Shrine’s Children’s Hospital, 3551 N.
