Doris Elizabeth Douglas

YORK- Doris Elizabeth (Kohler) Douglas, 95, passed away at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Kelly Drive on Monday, July 11, 2022. Married for 62 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Philip Andrew Douglas who died in 2008. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on August 1, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Church in Red Lion, with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear colorful attire as we will be celebrating with joy a life well-lived. A time of food and fellowship will follow the memorial service. Interment will take place at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery in New Bridgeville. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is assisting the family with the arrangements. Mrs. Douglas was born in Red Lion on October 1, 1926, the daughter of the late Melvin Victor and Clara Rebecca (Smith) Kohler. She retired from McCrory’s Corporation in York after many years of service. Doris was a life long member of Grace Lutheran Church in Red Lion, serving in varying capacities over the years. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be remembered for her strong faith and her wonderful sense of humor. Mrs. Douglas leaves a daughter, Rebecca I. May and her husband Thomas Sanagorski of Dillsburg; two sons, Daniel A. Douglas and his wife Catherine of Reading and Steven Douglas and his wife Sharon of Williamsburg, VA; five grandchildren, Andrew (Casey) May, Kevin May (Kassie), Eric (Emily) Douglas, Aubrey Douglas (Jordan), and Tucker Douglas; and a great granddaughter, Carenna May. She also leaves a brother, James Kohler and two sisters, Ruth Foti and Carolyn Jones. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Allen May.
