Doris Banis

KINGSTON-Doris Banis, of Kingston, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Kingston, a daughter of the late Frank and Ruth (O’Connor) McHenry. She was formerly married to Donald A. McCloskey, photographer for Kings College, until his passing in 1972, and was preceded in death by a sister Mickey Styklunas. Surviving is her husband of 36 years, Jack Banis, a former Air Force flight engineer; her three daughters who were also her best friends, Cindy Franklin, Chip McCloskey and Molly McCloskey; loving friend Anca Marinescu; grandchildren Eric and Buck Hurysh; six great-grandchildren; her loving canine companion, Heidi; brother Frank McHenry; sister Ruth Brostoski; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.
