Doris B. Miller

York – Doris B. Miller, 93, of York passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 19th at Country Meadows of Leader Heights. She was born on July 28th, 1928 in Bronx, New York, the daughter of Arthur and Agnes Becker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Thomas G. Miller, in 2019. Doris is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Steve Rodgers, her granddaughter, Juliana Rodgers and 4 great-grandchildren. Doris was a 1946 graduate of Evander Childs High School in the Bronx. She attended secretarial school after which she worked as a receptionist at Erwin, Wasey and Co., an advertising agency in New York. After she moved to York, she was a traffic scheduler at WSBA TV Channel 43, where she met her future husband. After years as a homemaker, Doris worked at Chas. A. Schaefer Flower Shop in downtown York, as well as volunteering at the York Area Agency on Aging. She served as the manager of the agency’s gift shop on W. Market St. for 20 years. Doris and Tom were avid travelers, and made the most of their trips all over the world. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc.
