Doris A. (Sweitzer) Albright

York—Doris A. (Sweitzer) Albright, 82, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at Country Meadow of York-South. She was the wife of Edward J. Albright to whom she was married for 63 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30AM, Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 109 E. Main St., Dallastown with her pastor, the Rev. Roger Mentzer. A viewing will be held 9-10:30AM, Tuesday at church. Burial will be held in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Born October 23, 1935 in York, she was a daughter of the late William and Alice (Leib) Sweitzer. She was employed as a telephone operator with GTE for 35 years and was also the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Albright Builders. A member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Dallastown, where she sang with the choir. She was also a member of the York Chorus and raised/showed Bassett Hounds. An avid Penn State Football fan, she enjoyed attending games for the past 35 years with her husband and family. Mrs. Albright is also survived by two sons, Steve Albright and wife, Mona of York and Alan Albright and wife, Luanne of Raleigh, NC; six grandchildren, Montie Royer, Kyle Albright, Tristyn Albright, Elizabeth Albright, Alex Albright and Macy Albright; four great grandchildren, Colton and Beckett Royer and Lila and Levi Albright; two sisters, Joan Corney and Phyllis Smith.
