Donna Veach Ellis

YORK-Donna “Cookie” (Veach) Ellis, 73, of Springettsbury Township, passed away Monday, August 30, 2021 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Craig D. “Buzz” Ellis. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June. Donna was born in Muddy Creek Forks, the daughter of the late William V. and Marian (Howett) Veach. She was a dedicated teacher for almost 30 years, mostly at the Red Lion Area Junior High School. She was a graduate of Kennard-Dale High School and Penn State University. She enjoyed many crafts in her younger years and became a world class reader as she aged. Donna is survived by a son, Brian Ellis (Melissa) of Landisville, PA; a daughter Emily Cichy (Ben) of Seattle, WA; and three grandchildren, Logan, Adrian, and Evan Cichy. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Lowe and an infant brother, William Edwin Veach. Her biggest joy was spending time with her family and especially playing with and reading to the “Cichy Boys”. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 161 N. Main Street, in Red Lion.
